Lesson 7: Intonation Shifts & Long and Short Vowels

Goals for this Lesson:

  1. Learn how stress can change in words using different parts of speech.
  2. Understand the historical perspective on spelling and pronunciation.
  3. Know how to pronounce the vowels /ey/ and in say, /ay/ as in hi and /ow/ as in go.
  4. Recognize many differences between long and short vowels
  5. Pass our short quiz with at least 80% accuracy.
