Lesson 10: Phrasal Verbs and the American L

Goals for this Lesson:

  1. Learn what phrasal verbs are and how to stress them.
  2. Use the correct stress in acronyms, spelling and numbers.
  3. Get a more "Americanized" L and learn how the L differs from the R.
  4. Pass our short quiz with at least 80% accuracy.

Word Intonation Patterns- 1 and 2 Syllables

While Compound Nouns are stressed in the beginning, Phrasal Verbs (two part verbs) are stressed at the end.  You will find out all about it in this lesson.  We are also going to talk about stress in spelling and numbers. Use your workbook to follow along.
